My Story – About Us

Thank you for your interest in All Things Foxes. We’ve built this page so you can find out who we are what we’re about. A lot of time and research has gone into making this site a reliable source for fox information.

However, we’re not just researchers, we are also fox lovers, collectors, and protectors of all things foxes.

Who We Are

All Things Foxes is a collective of people who research and provide information concerning foxes, sanctuaries for foxes, and related subjects. Founded in 2019 by Chad Fox, we have become a staple in the world of foxes.

Chad Fox and Angela Petree are the main writers, researchers, and editors of All Things Foxes. They have compiled the information for this website for anyone who wishes to learn about foxes and their behavior.

Our Mission

Our mission is to bring reliable information to the public about foxes, their ecology, habitats, and behavior. It is our goal to provide a complete experience in the study of foxes and all things related.

We wish to bring awareness to animal sanctuaries that rescue foxes and to help support animal rescues.

All life on earth is important, and we feel like foxes have had somewhat of a bad wrap. We oppose fox hunting for sport, and terrible conditions for foxes bred for fur farms.

My Story

Author Chad Fox.

My name is Chad Fox. My story starts around 20 years ago when I worked on a ranch in Bertram, Texas. This was my first exposure to wild foxes. I was a ranch hand with my brother, and we would tend to the ranch in whatever capacity that was needed.

The ranch was located on a 500-acre nature preserve and the beautiful things we would see daily really touched my heart.

I never thought I would connect with animals in the way that I did.

Shortly after my work on the ranch, I started to research foxes. We had seen multiple species, gray foxes and red foxes. I had even seen a black fox, which after a little research I discovered was a melanistic morph red fox.

I started seeing foxes pretty much everywhere. They would cross the road, run across a fence line, or just walk right up to me.

This was one of the benefits of living in the country!

I started to feel these animals on a spiritual level. Whenever I would be unsure about the direction my life was heading, sure enough, a fox would cross my path.

I have always been a writer and researcher and this prompted me to get into the research of fox ecology.

It has now been 20 years and every day I learn something new. This is why I created this website, to share my findings, information, and experiences with the public.

I now consider myself an authority on foxes. A lot of information about foxes seems to be incomplete are spread out so much that it is hard to find good sources.

I hope this site will help you to find what you’re looking for and bring you a little bit closer to these amazing animals.

Awareness

One of the most important things I want to achieve with All Things Foxes is bringing awareness to animal sanctuaries. Many foxes end up wounded or sick and need help recovering.

There are fox rescues and animal sanctuaries all across the country. This is such an amazing thing. As soon as I found out that people were working together to find homes for foxes and care for the ones who could not make it on their own in the wild, I knew I had to be a part of it.

For this reason, I have set up a donation page, to help with the costs that go into funding rescues.

I’ve included a few different sanctuaries, rescues, and even my local zoo. There are some really compassionate people out there that give their heart and soul to these animals.

If you want to be part of the solution for helping foxes survive, consider donating to one of these projects. See our donation page here.

Our Resources

I have been a researcher for most of my life. I have a large collection of books, encyclopedias, and other resources. I try my best to make sure that all of the information I have gathered is accurate and correct. However, no one is infallible.

I have my own firsthand experiences with these awesome creatures and try to put a personal touch to all of my information.

Online I try to use as many government and university websites as possible to cite where I get my information, however, even these sites can be spread apart and contradict themselves. Even the books I have seem to disagree about certain things concerning foxes.

This is why I have compiled all of these things into one site where you could read, learn, and even contribute.

If you find anything that you feel is inaccurate on this website, feel free to email us at: allthingsfoxessite@gmail.com with any changes you feel should be made. When doing so make sure you cite your sources so that we can verify the information.

You can also join our tribe of researchers and foxes lovers by subscribing to our list with the form below. Or send us an email asking for more information.

Conclusion

We want to thank everyone who has been a part of this experience, Angela and I are not the only ones who have contributed to this website. We are all fox lovers, and we all want the same thing, to connect and share information.

Make sure you explore this site thoroughly, not only do we provide information, but we also have coloring pages with foxes, fox collectibles, and fun fox activities for all ages!

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Stay Foxy,

Chad Fox.
